Today’s Phuket property scene has become multi-faceted and multi-dimensional offering everything from ultra high end beachside luxury pool villas, to the rapidly expanding market segment in condominiums for rental, holiday homes or investment. Here we take an up-to-the-minute look on the latest in Phuket’s ever-evolving property pageant.
The range of property currently being constructed and for sale in Phuket is truly amazing. Once Thailand’s nationwide property boom hit the island paradise, the market rocketed from its humble beginning to offerswathes of ultra-top-end accommodation. However, the property scene has evolved from those early days in both volume and the depth of offerings, so that today’s Phuket has rapidly become a ‘something-for-everyone’ market. The choice of rental property available also reflects the new-found affluence of the island, with a good choice of villas, townhouses and condominiums in many prime locations on offer.

In addition to the natural splendors with which the island and surrounding hinterland are blessed, Phuket continues to add man-made infrastructure designed to increase the efficiency of island life and the enjoyment of living here.
Ongoing road and traffic management upgrades continue with the opening of the Central Festival tunnel; the airport continues to expand and develop; schools and medical support infrastructure keeps growing; Phuket Town is seeing gentrification and re-generation of its walking streets and classic Sino-Portuguese sections; and resorts, hotels restaurants and attendant activities continue to flourish.
Properties near or within the larger urban areas such as Phuket Town, Patong, Surin, Kamala and the Central Festival area, tend to provide all the modern features such as entertainment, services, eateries and work opportunities that one could wish for. However, as would be expected, prices are also higher for properties that command access to man-made and natural amenities,especially properties located near the beach.
It’s always important to do thorough research and information gathering before committing to a purchase and a good agent and/or a developer with a wellestablished and impeccable reputation are important.
Be sure that you see as much of the island and all the areas of development that it has to offer prior to making your selection of a property to buy.
