Authentic Indian cuisine is famous across the globe for its unique aroma and rich taste. The remarkably flavourful given by the variety of spices and herbs makes it one of the famous foods of all time.
Here, on the beautiful island of Phuket, a genuine Indian feast is prepared delicately by in-house Executive Chef of Sawaddi Patong Resort Hotel at their Scent of Spices restaurant. The restaurant has a dining terrace featuring views of the swimming pool and shady trees where you can sit back and relax.
To warm things up, a palatable entrée of Lamb Seek Kebab – after being marinated with a handful of Indian spices hot minced lamb is grilled in a charcoal oven and then served alongside a cup of mint sauce adding an extra deliciousness. Some thin crusty Papadoms are offered as a complimentary side dish.
Next we indulged in some delicious Murgdam Biryani – Basmati rice cooked with Indian herbs and some tender chicken that results in an appetising shiny yellow rice offering a rich taste with a touch of saffron flavour that blends so well with the finely marinated chicken, topped with crispy shallots. The plain Raita, which is a white sauce made of yoghurt mixed with cumin and chilli powder, makes the Murgdam Biryani even more flavourful.
Another star of this feast is the Prawn Makhani with Garlic Naan. The fresh prawns go amazingly well with the hot and mild spicy creamy curry with the true scents of traditional Indian cuisine; onions, ginger, tomato, garlic and coriander. The hot baked Garlic Naan complements this mouth-watering bowl perfectly.
