The Fat Chef The Art Of Eating
Phuket is pushing itself to be one of Thailand’s’ gas-tronomy destinations, and many Phuket restaurants have woken up this fact and responded with new and exciting initiatives.
If you are one of those looking for something a little extraordinary, then let The Guide Phuket introduce you to “The Fat Chef”, a restaurant where Eurasian cuisine is their art.
As the name suggests, “Eurasian” cuisine combines cooking techniques and ingredients from Europe and Asia, and the menu at The Fat Chef explains how Eu-ropean cooking techniques go well with Asian cook-ing cultures and also reflect the charming destination of Phuket.
The Guide Phuket team were recently invited to sam-ple the delights on offer at The Fat Chef and chose appitizers of Aromatic Crab Cake in Fruit Salad Gar-den with Saffron and Citrus Dressing and Seafood Salad with Homemade Sundried Tomatoes.
Both appetizers were amazing for both taste and pre-sentation. The ingredients were fresh and the chef should be congratulated on coming up with idea of serving the outstanding Seafood Salad in a shell.
We then moved on to the soup, and this is what Eur-asian cuisine is all about, Wonton Soup. This fresh prawn wonton, served in an amazing Asian herbal consume broth will take you to another level. This is one of the best soups ever experienced.
The team then chose Seafood Fettuccini with Special XO Sauce, the famous Phuket dish “Moo-Hong” and Steamed Fish with Black Bean Sauce/ Japanese Soy as mains.
Again the dishes were well presented, but their tastes were thrilling and full of Eurasian flavours. The Moo-Hong has its own unique twist with the Kurobuta pork being steamed and braised with The Fat Chefs special recipe of sweet soya, white wine and secret Asian spices.
Of course our visit to The Fat Chef had a perfect end-ing, dessert. We went for the Fruit Bread Pudding and what a way to finish an amazing evening, it could never fail.
The Fat Chef opens daily for dinner from 6 pm – 10.30 pm. There will
be additional special menus rotated daily for guest to enhance their experiences of Eurasian cuisine.
Advanced reservation is recommended and bring-in beverages are also welcomed.
