Phuket Floating Market is the only floating market on the island and is located opposite Loch Palm Golf Club in Kathu. It is quickly becoming a major an attraction for Thai and foreigner visitors due to its full range of food, shops and Otop products available from the market’s boardwalk.

The main attraction is of course eating Thai food and seafood on wooden the walkway. And the range varies from appetizers to snacks to full meals.Throughout the day, several tradition Thai performances are performed on stage. In addition, many vendors dress up in Thai costumes giving the market a really authentic feel.

Visitors perch on rows of narrow steps leading down to the water and food is brought directly from the boats onto tiny tables. If you don’t feel like sitting, walk a bit to find restaurants with real tables and chairs. The nicest and most quiet restaurant is located at the end of the boardwalk.

All along each side of the boardwalk, interesting shops sell souvenirs, sweets, fresh coffee, snacks and ice creams. But all around the market one can find local foods with some more uncommon options also available such as boiled nuts and small meatballs with gravy, many Thais have said that such items remind them of the childhoods.
