By far the number one cause of low back pain in golfers is caused by excessive rotation of the spine or big turn while holding a stationary hip position at the top of the backswing.

This swing habit has been taught to many golfers on the false belief that it engages the “big” muscles of the back creating a sling shot effect for more head club speed and ball distance.
