Getting to know : The Garden Phuket Luxury Mall

This place was initially the fruit plantation of my father, Tawee Suwannakarn. The garden comes from his word; when he told us he is coming here, he would say ‘Pai Suan’ (meaning go to the garden) so we called the place this way,” said Mr Santi Suwannakarn, the founder of the The Garden.

“We designed a place where people can indulge, and enjoy as well as gain knowledge about Phuket.”

Taweesuwan

The branch of one of the oldest gold shops in Phuket with 70 years of experience and craftsmanship. If you are a local Phuketian, it is impossible not to have heard about its long respectful reputation. They also create Peranakan jewelries, a pride of Phuket history.

“We work with specialists in Phuket history to ensure the design stays true to its original form. A lot of people are interested in Peranakan jewelries, including locals, Bangkokians and foreigners such as Singaporean and Chinese people.” Said Mr Santi.

Peranakan Phuket Museum

Entering the second floor of The Garden, you will be surrounded by Phuket memories. The staff is knowledgeable about Peranakan culture and is always happy to help. You can visit a typical house from that era decorated with antiques and tools that were used a century ago.

Many of these items had been kindly donated by local people who visited us and wanted to share them with the rest of the world. For each item, we express our gratitude stating item’s origin and details about it,” Mr Santi explained.
