Meet Wuttisak Wuttiamaporn – Executive Chef of Phuket’s fabulous new etHo’ s Restaurant and Lounge
Upon a beautiful west coast headland overlooking Kalim and Patong Bays and the Andaman Sea a marvellous new restaurant is taking shape in the charming form of etHo’ s Restaurant and Lounge Mediterranean eatery, which will open in April 2017.
etHo’ s Restaurant and Lounge is the brainchild of Ernst Bauer and Thomas Brack, the team behind the fabulously successful The 9th Floor Restaurant which took Phuket by storm from its opening in 2006 to become literally world famous for its fabulous cuisine, wine cellar and overall style, not to mention the beauty and efficiency of its waitresses – the famous 9th Floor “angels”.
Thomas and Ernst are now planning to launch etHo’ s Restaurant and Lounge and bring its amazing Mediterranean cuisine to the island, aided and abetted by Executive Chef Wuttisak Wuttiamaporn, a well-known culinary personality throughout Thailand and the Andaman region.
Chef Wutttisak started his stellar career over 20 years ago and has worked in Britain, Japan and all over Thailand particularly around the Andaman region where he is something of a star.
He worked his way up through the ranks of world class cuisine and cooking at such famous establishments as Amari Coral Beach, Patong; Royal Paradise Phuket; Sheraton Krabi; the Ramada Hotel in Osaka Japan, and latterly as Executive Chef overseeing the opening of the Nap and the Charm Resorts in Phuket.
Along the way he worked with such legends of the toque and skillet as Chef Jerome Chase, Chef Jorg Meierhans and also with Thomas Brack and Chef Wara Pakdeewirote at the Swiss Chalet in 2004, which grew into the famous The 9th Floor Restaurant.
“We will offer excellent Mediterranean fare cooked with the finest produce sourced from Thailand and all over the world. We will go to whichever markets offer the best in class for any particular ingredient such as local Andaman seafood and fish, the late King’s Project for organic vegetables and herbs, Australia for beef and lamb, France for cold water shellfish and oysters, Italy for red prawns, Canada for lobsters, Japan for chicken and so on.
Our intention is to set the benchmark for fine dining complemented by service, design and stunning sea views, not to mention stunning views of our lovely, well-trained waitresses as well!
etHo’ s Restaurant and Lounge’s dining area will accommodate 80 and features a choice of indoor, or outdoor terrace dining, plus a welcoming lounge and bar. Our wine cellar will also be stellar…….a stellar cellar in fact! We will have over 400 labels and the famous local mixologist Gor on staff creating fabulous cocktails.”
etHo’ s Restaurant and Lounge and Chef Wuttisak are clearly going to be a stunning Phuket success, so it’s best to book a table right now for April’s opening!
