The Rawai Nai Harn Business Community organized a well-attended beach cleaning event on Sunday 24 July 2016 at Nai Harn Beach.
Supported by the OrBorTor Rawai and moderated by DJ Tom Tank of Radio 89.75, more than two tons of rubbish were collected from the front and the back of Nai Harn Beach.
Spearheaded by Claude Baltes of Sunsuri Phuket and Urs Aebi of Serenity Resort & Residences and in cooperation with the Chief of OrBorTor Rawai Municipality, Mr. Aroon Solos, nearly 300 people participated in the clean-up. The OrBorTor with their team, staff from Atmanjai, Friendship Beach Resort, Old Dawg, Serenity Resort & Residences, Sunsuri Phuket, The Mangosteen Resort & Spa, The Nai Harn, Chivitr as well as children and mentors from the Watsawangarom School Rawai and a number of local residents and tourists participated.
The clean-up was also sponsored by Phuket Art Advertising based near Chalong circle.
“This was a successful event” said Claude Baltes, adding that “not only is the beach much cleaner, but we have now agreed with the Chief of the OrBorTor how the private sector and the local authorities will work together to keep the beach clean in the future. Thank you to all those who helped to organize and participated in the event.”
