First international hotel brand in Phuket Old Town officially opened by HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn
Novotel Phuket Phokeethra, located on Thailand’s most popular holiday island, was officially opened late this afternoon, when Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn cut the ribbon, marking the start of the hotel’s spectacular grand opening festivities.
Some 350 guests attending the event, including the Governor of Phuket, Vice Governors, the Army Area Commander, Governor, Prosecutor, Ambassadors, travel agents, corporate personnel and local media, were taken on an extravagant journey, enjoying a glimpse of Phuket’s rich history and many fabulous in-land and beach destinations.
Participants were also treated to live music and welcome drinks upon arrival, plus a whole spread of local fare to sample, prepared by the hotel’s team of highly experienced chefs.
Shortly after sunset, the festivities culminated in a fabulous dinner celebration, when the guests enjoyed a sumptuous set dinner, along with a whole evening of local entertainment. Included in the entertainment line up were traditional musical performances by students Sian Nan and Satta Kinnara Phu Pate from Ratchaphat and Prince of Songkla Universities, plus singing by the hotel owner’s company.
But the celebrations did not end there. Finally, the party finished on a high note, when the group assembled at the property’s glorious Estrela Sky lounge for more live music and sensational drinks, while taking in the venue’s breath-taking panoramic views of both the city and sea.
The mid-scale Novotel brand offers travellers an ‘easy-living experience’, with spacious and modular rooms, stand-out meeting facilities and a commitment to guest well-being.
Featuring 180 spacious rooms and suites with city, mountain and bay views, the hotel’s stylish rooms offer premium bathroom amenities, LCD TVs, and complimentary Wi-Fi and minibars. For wellness, fitness and relaxation, the hotel has a spa, gym and an indoor pool.
An elegant counterpoint to the abundant street fare outside the hotel, the all-day dining restaurant, AMOR, serves delicious local and international cuisine, and the Sino-Portuguese-inspired Estrela Sky Lounge offers breathtakingly panoramic views of the city, the bay and the mountains, while the chic lobby lounge, LUA, is an inviting rendezvous point.
For meetings, events and conferences, the hotel can accommodate up to 850 guests in its state-of-the-art Grand Ballroom with vaulted ceilings, and offers four additional meeting rooms.
With more than 30 beaches on the island, guests will never be far from the sea – Patong Beach, Kata Beach and Karon Beach are just a short ride from the hotel. A five-minute drive to Thalang Road and Promthep Clock Tower in Phuket Old Town and 40 minutes from Phuket International Airport, the hotel is located at 40 Chanajaroen Road, Tambol Talad Yai, Amphur Muang Phuket.
