General Manager of Cape Panwa Hotel, Phuket
What are your key objectives and strategies for leading the Cape Panwa Hotel?
The key objective is to always be up to date and to provide an ambience and service for the traveler of today. We constantly add new assets to the hotel to make the stay even more pleasant. We have just renovated our Bamboo Bar at the beach, and this has been well received by our guests. If you enter the large open structure wooden style lobby you’ll definitely be impressed and feel like you’re in a tropical paradise. In terms of service, we learn from each other and implement best practices from the Cape Collection group. Our many repeat guests over the last decades have proven that we are on the right track with our strategies.
How does the Cape Panwa Hotel differentiate itself from its competitors?
The design and the setting of Cape Panwa are unique. Our secluded beach and garden looks like a real tropical paradise. Having our own jetty and yacht, as well as a Sino-Portuguese traditional house at the beach, serving as a Thai restaurant, is hardly found anywhere in Phuket. Being at the end of the road, in the far southeast of Phuket, the Cape Panwa Hotel is the unique place to completely relax and unwind from the daily hassle.
What are your target audiences?
We focus on guests that come to relax and enjoy the secluded location. We attract couples or honeymooners, wedding guests as well as families. But we are also an ideal place for corporate or incentives groups.
Describe your philosophy and management style?
I like to lead by example. It is important to be respected by my team and to look after our guests and staff. Having a team that enjoys their work will reflect on our guests. I use my vast experience to proactively work with our team to identify guest’s preferences, to make it the most enjoyable and memorable stay for them. I form strong leaders within the team who take responsibility, train their department teams to work according to our group standards. To be visible and approachable by our guests is also very important.
Tell us about your upcoming promotions and events
We are currently inviting our guests to enjoy the romantic, sensual mood of the Thai soap opera Neung Nai Suang, and follow in the footsteps of its stars “Khun Neung” and “Khun Poom”. With this promotion, guests can spend an afternoon snorkelling at Coral Island then have a romantic dinner at Panwa House, a Sino-Portuguese style mansion that houses a fantastic restaurant with a panoramic view of the Andaman Sea.
We are also once again preparing for the Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Raceweek 2015, which is set to take place the 15th to 19th of July.
Now in its 12th year, Phuket Raceweek’s reputation continues to grow as an increasing number of participants from all over the world take part and enjoy the beauty of Phuket’s Green Season.
Equally important to overseas participants is the regatta shore venue and with our hotel as title sponsor and host venue together with sister property Kantary Bay Hotel, Phuket Raceweek provides an idyllic beachfront venue and safe anchorage with onshore service second-to-none. Further underscoring our commitment to Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Raceweek, this year will see our owner and CEO, Mr Tirapongse Pangsrivongse, competing on his newly acquired boat, Kantus’ Bride.
