COVID19 Keep Social Distance - Teaser

As we are facing a social and economic crisis in the wake of the novel Coronavirus, known as COVID-19, we thought it would be a good idea to summarize the best practices to keep you safe!

Wear a mask

While wearing a mask will not protect you from being infected, it may save the lives of dozens of people if you happen to be a carrier of the virus. As we know, the incubation period of COVID-19 can be as long as 14 to 21 days, during which you may not feel any symptoms. Wearing a mask is the responsible thing to do in order to minimize the spread of the virus. Furthermore, the Government of Phuket strongly encourages people to wear a mask when visiting public places and when doing grocery shopping.

Wash your hands properly

Let’s make a bet! I can guarantee that over 50% of the people reading this article do not wash their hands properly. After all, it is something so basic that there is probably no need for training, right? Wrong! Do yourself a favor and watch some tutorial videos on YouTube; you will be surprised at the extra knowledge you may gain from a few minutes well-spent! Make sure to wash your hands with soap for at least 20 seconds and keep in mind that the hydro-alcoholic gel, while useful in many situations, is not as efficient as your soap at home.

Keep the distance and isolate

This is a tough one, as some of us still have to show up at the office or need to buy some groceries from time to time. Make sure to stay at least two meters away from the next person in line or your colleagues as it will help curb the spread of the virus. Try to keep social gathering to small, limited numbers, or even better, start a video chat conversation with your friends and family. Do not forget that Phuket, at the time of writing, is under a national curfew, and you should refrain from leaving your house after 10:00 pm.
