Imagine a cozy Italian restaurant that serves an authentic cuisine alongside a great list of wine on the side; you will find Luca Cini – A Wine Story in Boat Avenue, in Cherng Talay, and has become a favorite among many locals and expatriates alike.
Comfortable seating, a friendly atmosphere, and traditional Italian food are the successful recipes behind Luca Cini – A Wine Story, a delightful venue sitting at the entrance of Boat Avenue, in Cherng Talay, with its large terrace perfect for a romantic dinner or just for sipping a glass of wine or two.
The indoor seats are facing the open kitchen, showcasing the quality of premium cheese, cold cuts, and other ingredients they carefully selected for their guests. The vantage point also allows observing Chef Bruna and her team cooking in action. The Guide Phuket recently had such privileges, and we were left highly impressed by the list of delicious menu items and the overall atmosphere of the venue.
We started with the classic mixed board of cheese and cold cuts, including prosciutto, salami, and ham. They are complemented by a fresh, homemade basket of bread. Next on the appetizer list was the deep-fried anchovies; the crunchy texture provides a great touch to the tasty anchovies inside, while the creamy mayo added a mellow taste and balanced everything up with a zest of lemon.
Moving on to the first main course, we were served the classic tagliatelle seafood and a plate of beautiful ravioli with ricotta cheese filling and tomato sauce. Chef Bruna shared with us that she makes fresh pasta every morning to ensure the quality in every bite. The seafood was extremely fresh, while the combination of cheese filling and tomato sauce was out of this world.
Another unforgettable main course is their signature Risotto Porcini Mushroom. The risotto was cooked to perfection in the very rich and flavorful brown sauce with porcini mushrooms that gives a really pleasing texture to the dish.
We ended the meal wonderfully with some tasty desserts and soon learned that Luca Cini is not just good at savory dishes, but also scored high on the sweet side.
Their Pannacotta was smooth and bouncy. It goes fantastically well with the raspberry sauce on top while the pleasurable tiramisu offered a soft and smooth texture but was rich in taste and the balance of sweetness made it an indulging finale.
