We recently had the opportunity to visit Phuket’s first and largest water park, located in the Mai Khao area, north of the island. Splash Jungle Water Park Phuket opens its door at 10:00 am every morning and offers countless hours of fun until its closing time at 5:45 pm.
Upon arrival, we were provided with an RFID watch, which is used to process all payments within the park, and were shown the way to the locker rooms. The first thing you’ll see upon entering the premises is the brand new Whizzard: it consists of six tubes of different colors that can be used to race among friends; a thrill is guaranteed!
Another new addition is the Family Raft Ride, which as the name suggests, is perfect for families who want to experience a ride together, in four-six seat rafts.
Or from the same floors you can depart the Super Bowl and the even more famous Boomerango, a water slide that brings you 15 meters high on a reverse free fall.
After this adrenaline rush, we felt like we deserved to eat a tasty meal and headed down to the Island Bar, a white canopy located in the center of the park. The menu offers casual, yet delicious fares that are perfect as a snack or a late lunch; we ended up with two delicious pizzas and some refreshments.
At this stage, if you do not feel like going back on the water slides, you should consider the other options that Splash Jungle has to offer. One is the relaxing Lazy River, a 300+ meter ride that goes through the entire park and allows you to stop at different areas of the venue.
Another fun option is the Wave Pool, which recreates the condition of the coast of the Andaman under strong winds. Life jackets are provided if needed.
We ended this wonderful day at the Splash Bar with a well-deserved afternoon drink. This swim-up bar offers regular promotions during the day and is a great place to meet up with fellow adventurers.
